The number of tourists visiting Vadnagar has increased dramatically, nearly tripling from 2.45 lakh in 2022–2023 to nearly 7 lakh in 2023–2024. In a same vein, Dholavira, a UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site that symbolizes the Indus Valley Civilization, has also witnessed large investments, the statement continued. The Gujarat government, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, has planned tourism development projects for Dholavira totaling Rs 185 crore. Phase 1 initiatives are already under way and cost Rs 76 crore. It is anticipated that tourism would increase once these amenities are finished. From 1.41 lakh visitors in 2022–2023 to over 2.32 lakh in 2023–2024, Dholavira's visitor numbers more than doubled.
